Wondering how to shop for your next running shoe? Or are you new to running and looking for tips?
We asked a few of our running enthusiasts at acac and they shared what shoes they like.
“My running shoe of choice has come a long way. The Skechers GoRun Ride 4 has become my favorite shoe for a number of reasons. One of the most important reasons is because it offers a low heel-to-toe offset of 4mm, instead of a traditional running shoe’s offset of 10-12mm. This allows my foot to follow a more natural running gait pattern. I also love how light and flexible the shoe is, yet it provides plenty of cushioning for long marathon training runs. Skechers has not had a great reputation for athletic shoes historically, but it has delivered one of the best running shoes I have ever worn. I’ve been happy with a number of models from Skechers. The shoe can be checked out here: http://www.skechers.com/style/53998/skechers-gorun-ride-4/orbk.” -Adam Goerge, Personal Trainer
“I order online two pairs of Nike LunarFly Breathe shoes every 6 months. They are the bomb” -Chris Collins, Membership Coordinator and Group Exercise Instructor
“Saucony Ride 7… LOVE my Saucony’s and have worn them since they were Ride 3’s. I will be buying the Ride 8 next round. I buy several pairs at a time, so I always have a go-to pair when my favorites have racked up too many miles. I have high arches and love the extra cushioning in these shoes. They would not be appropriate for someone needing a lot of support or motion control. Ragged Mountain fitted me for these shoes years ago and I’m hooked!” -Beth Cox, Personal Trainer & Group Exercise Instructor
