acac Summer Camp | Specialty Camps

acac‘s Day Camp is fun all summer long, and our Specialty Camps allow your child to spend a week exploring a special interest or discovering a new one! Princess Camp

This royal adventure includes tea parties, etiquette lessons, dance lessons, crafts, singing, and story time and daily visits by princesses.

Say Yes to the Mess!

Join us this summer for a full week of making a MESS! Let your child explore with us and participate in creative, hands-on activities that might just make a bit of a mess. Activities may include bubble paint, slimy slip and slide, super slime making, tie dye, pudding paint, mud sling, and a color run race.

Outdoor Camp

Every day is a new adventure at acac’s Outdoor Camp. Daily trips include tubing down the James River, hiking and swimming at Walnut Creek Park, nature exploration at Ivy Creek Natural Park, and visiting Luray Caverns!

New! Staycation Adventure Camp

Every day is a new day trip! These learning adventure trips will include the Richmond Science Museum, Amazement Square, Frontier Culture Museum, and the Lewis & Clark Exploratory Center.

All-American Girl Camp

This camp is designed just for you—an All-American Girl of today! Spend the week enjoying activities with your favorite doll. Enjoy a special themes such as Pajama Day, Beach Day, and Spa Day! Each day is made even more fun with special guests and related arts and crafts, cooking, games, music and other hands-on activities.

Bricks 4 Kids: Remote Control Mania

Making it move is the name of the game at this exciting camp! Kids will love to see their creations in motion using LEGO® wireless remote controls. Campers will use LEGO® components to create dynamic vehicles, inventions, and machines. As they enjoy the fun of building, campers will learn the basic working principles of ingenious devices that are part of our everyday lives.

New! Epic Chefs Cooking Camp

Charlottesville’s top chefs will introduce campers to the culinary arts. Activities include food safety and preparation, recipe building, and cooking techniques.

Misty Mountain Nature Camp

This nature-focused week includes daily camp activities at Misty Mountain Camp Resort. Campers enjoy fishing, gem mining, nature hikes, bike riding, hayrides, swimming, crafts, traditional campground games such as horseshoes, corn hole, and a zip line. Includes a Thursday overnight—campers sleep in the large indoor community room equipped with a kitchen, air conditioning, and restrooms.

Theatre Arts Camp

This week-long introduction to theatre arts includes singing, acting, dancing, costume design, and set and sound production. The camp is led by theatre arts professionals.

New! Operation Adventure

HOOYAH! Spend a week immersed in games of strategy, obstacle courses, physical training and tactical problem solving for sport and life. Your child will also learn vital skills such as teamwork and camaraderie. Activities include anti-bullying and stranger safety instruction. This course is taught by former United States Navy SEAL and former Boston Police Officer Jason Perry and his team of instructors.
