Racquet Sports for a Lifetime


The benefits of playing tennis are both physical (increased aerobic fitness, strength, and coordination) and mental (improved stress management, sportsmanship, and teamwork). All of acac’s tennis pros are USPTA-certified and offer private instruction, group lessons and clinics for youth and adults. Teams and tournaments create a community of members and offer opportunities for friendly competition.

Squash & racquetball

Squash and Racquetball combine strategy, athleticism… and fun! Both are great workouts and can be played year-round. Individual and group lessons, organized leagues and weekly Round Robins provide lots of opportunities for match play, practice and meeting other players at your level.

Members may book and cancel courts online up to 3 days in advance or by visiting or phoning the Downtown Member Services desk, 434.984.3800. Loaner equipment is available. Click here to set up an online account.

Badminton, handball & wallyball

acac‘s Racquetball courts also can be used for wallyball, handball or badminton. Members and their guests can join regularly scheduled games, or can book a court and create their own teams! Equipment is available and can be checked out or purchased at the Member Services desk. Advanced court booking is advised. Non-marking court shoes are required for all court sports, and protective eye-wear is required for Handball.

Pickleball combines the best aspects of tennis, badminton and Ping-Pong into a fun sport that is exploding in popularity. Pickleball is played on the basketball courts at acac Albemarle Square.
