Take it easy.

Take it easy.

You can unplug now, that’s the message – if you get it. As trainers, something we see all the time is people launching into an intense new workout regimen and strict dietary restrictions… for maybe a month or three. Then they’re gone.

I implore you to not do that. If you’re trying to make a change, whether to your exercise routine or your dietary habits, ask yourself the following:

  1. Does this plan sound almost too easy?
  2. Can I see myself almost effortlessly carrying this on for the rest of my life?

If the answers to either are ‘no’,┬ámake it easier.

Once more for the people in the back: MAKE IT EASIER.

A very modest and low time-requirement program *that you actually do* for years, no weeks or a few months, will net you huge achievements and change. A super badass hardcore program will get you nowhere, because you won’t stick to it. Nobody does.

And the people you’re thinking of, who do super badass workouts? Their workouts are not super badass for them. They worked up to that level over a thousand tiny incremental steps. They formed their habits gradually and with less effort than you would think.

One more time with feeling:

  1. Does this plan sound almost too easy?
  2. Can I see myself almost effortlessly carrying this on for the rest of my life?

Think about it.
