VA Clubs Reopening FAQs

The team at acac has been actively monitoring and preparing for the safe and effective re-opening of our clubs. With continual review of the recommendations from state and local health officials, the CDC, and our Emergency Response Team, we have put into place a comprehensive plan that meets or exceeds all guidelines set by the state of Virginia for a safe return to exercise. VA Club Re-Opening Operational Guidelines

Group Exercise Classes | Downtown, Albemarle Square, Short Pump, Midlothian

UPDATED POLICY 11/1: We have extended your ability to reserve your space in class up to 15 minutes prior to the class start time. If you reserve a space and need to cancel, no problem. Just make sure you do so 2 hours prior to the start time. There will be a $5 fee if you cancel with less than 2 hours prior to the start of class. If you can’t attend and fail to cancel, a no show fee of $15 will be assessed.

When you check-in at the Member Service desk, don’t forget to let the team know you are attending class. They will be sure to mark you as attended. Reservations for class can be made through your acac member portal or acac app. For more information on how to reserve your space, click here.

• Please check website or app for updated group exercise schedule.

• Members must register in advance for classes via the acac app or member portal. Reservations open 25 hours in advance and stays open until 15 minutes prior to class start time.

NOTE: Reservations not required for the outdoor pools in Midlothian, but are required for the indoor pools.
Registration Info:

• Members must reserve a lane for 30 or 60 minutes in advance via the acac app or the acac member portal. Reservations open 3 days in advance, no-show fees will apply.

          select specific day and time, click ‘reserve’.

The Spa at acac | Downtown, Albemarle Square
Downtown Spa hours of operation: Tuesday, 9:00am – 1:00pm | Thursday, 4:00 – 7:00pm | Saturday, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Available Services: full-body 30, 45, and 60-minute massages, cryotherapy for the body, reiki, reflexology, manicures, pedicures, body waxing, back facials, laser hair removal, and skincare consultations.

Albemarle Square hours of operation: Tuesday, 3:00 – 7:00pm | Wednesday, 9:00am – 1:00pm | Friday, 10:00am – 1:00pm | Saturday, 10:00am – 1:00pm
Available Services: full-body 30, 45, and 60-minute massages, eyebrow waxing and tinting, body waxing, manicures, and pedicures.

Registration Info:

• At this time, our spa services are reserved for active acac members. Members are required to register in advance by calling 434.975.1740.

• At this time, the Spa at acac cannot accept cash or checks. Payments must be made by card or charged to your member account.
  Payment in full is expected for any missed or canceled appointments within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time. 

• Reservations are limited to one (1) 60-minute session per day.

• Masks are required to be worn at all times within the spa.

VA Club Re-Opening FAQ

Q: How many members can be in the club at a time? How is acac going to manage capacity?
A: Each club will operate at 75% or less of its stated occupancy capacity. You can check your club’s capacity prior to leaving your home at acac.clubautomation.com/capacity-status.

Q: Is towel service available?
A: Hand towels are available for member use, but bath towel service may not be available at your club location.

Q: Do I need to register for classes?
A: Due to limited capacities, all group exercise classes will require pre-registration. Please register online or using the acac app.

Q: Do I need to wear a mask?
A: Wearing of masks or facial coverings is required by all member-facing acac team members. Members are required by the state of Virginia to wear masks indoors when not exercising and are encouraged to wear them at all times.

Q: How is acac going to clean the club?
A: acac has developed extensive cleaning protocols and acquired all necessary cleaning agents to thoroughly clean the club daily. All details of our new cleaning procedures and processes can be found at acac.com/clean.

Q: What screening precautions are in place?
A: All members are required to complete a temperature check and answer screening questions prior to checking into the club. Those who have elevated temperatures or have been exposed to COVID-19 may be asked to refrain from club usage for up to 14 days.

Q: How will acac maintain physical distancing?
A: All class capacities will be reduced to provide for 10 feet of distance between members. Cardio equipment and strength equipment will be distanced as needed or removed from service.

Q: Are there parts of the club that will not reopen?
A: Hot tubs, steam rooms, & saunas must remain closed during Phase 3.

Q: How can acac support those who have underlying health conditions?
A: Virtual and outdoor class offerings are included with membership and are a great way to exercise for those concerned about indoor activities.

Q: How can I reactivate my membership?
A: Simply email accountsupport@acac.com or come by the club to activate your membership.

Q: What are acac’s plans for summer camp operations?
A: Summer camps are operating as scheduled, under guidelines provided by the State of Virginia. Registration for camp is ongoing:

Q: How can I start using remaining sessions on my account?
A: Any sessions remaining on your account will be there when you return and you can begin using them when you are ready.

Q: Are there any changes to the guest policy?
A: Members may bring guests for the daily fee of $12. Members may bring as many guests as there are members on the membership or one non-member family. For example, a family of 3 may bring up to 3 guests at a time. Current Members with a freeze/hold on their membership will pay a daily fee of $20. All guests must complete the health screening and a waiver before entry. Guests who are not accompanied by a member are not permitted at this time. Guest passes can be used for any area of the club including the Waterpark.

Q: How will acac deliver group exercise classes?
A: Group Classes will be delivered inside and virtually. Simply pick the right type of class for you when you are ready to get started.
