What's In Your Gym Bag with Trainer, Lise Rowe

The items stored in a gym bag can be just as important as the items stored in your wallet, purse, and/or briefcase. Most people assume that a gym bag only contains what you’d use for a workout. But, in Personal Trainer Lise Rowe’s eyes, more like the fictional Disney character, Mary Poppins, Lise’s gym bag contains personal belongings and other versatile items that could help in any situation. Whether it’s snacks, a travel size “stick,” or a pouch of on-the-go hazelnut spread, Lise seems to have it all. 

Let’s dive right in and see what Lise carries in her gym bag:

1.) Always carry an extra pair of socks, underwear, and bra… you’ll never know when you might need it.
2.) MyZone Heart Rate Monitor… helps with self-motivation for personal workouts.
3.) Extra Bluetooth headphones.
4.) Shower Kit Essentials: travel size shampoo/conditioner/body wash/toothbrush/toothpaste.
5.) Tide-to-Go Stick for those emergency spills.
6.) Travel size “Stick” for rolling out the muscles on-the-go.
7.) Spare hair ties… ladies, super important!
8.) Foam fitness ball mini… for more muscle recovery on-the-go.
9.) Rogue fascia stretching bands.
10.) Stainless steel water bottle and stainless steel tea/coffee mug (Lise doesn’t go anywhere without these two essential items!).
11.) Emergen-C packets: these help boost the immune system and energy levels if you begin to feel dizzy before, during, or after a workout.
12.) Toothpicks, band-aids, spare cash, lip balm, tea bags, and other small essentials.
13.) Hazelnut butter or almond butter… small pack for a quick snack.
14.) Recycled cereal/snack plastic bags are always filled with snacks like red peppers, grapes, cucumber slices, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, and more.
15.) Reusable silverware made from renewable bamboo: fork, knife, spoon, chopsticks, and a spork.  She also carries a small sharp knife.
16.) Luna Bars and Larabars are light and easy to carry for a quick snack.
17.) Ginger Delights, dark chocolate hazelnuts, and reusable granola bags filled with apples and oranges make for a healthy sweet treat.
18.) acac business cards: you never know when you’ll run into a potential client.
19.) A small needle to pump up exercise balls… this has come in handy more times than you can imagine!
20.) Advil, Ibuprofen, or some sort of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug is always carted around for proper use or emergencies.

Alongside her gym bag, Lise carries a lunchbox made from recycled juice bags and tires… this easily attaches to her bike rack which makes traveling to and from work a lot easier. Lise also bikes to work almost every day, weather permitting.
