Timonium Alert

Attention Timonium Members: The large bay door in the main fitness center will be replaced with a large window on Thursday 1/17 and Friday 1/18.

There may be some temporary noise and/or brief cold air during this construction. We hope to minimize discomfort and disturbance to your workouts on those days. However, feel free to use the fitness equipment on the Timonium Road side of the club — or consider working out at our Hunt Valley location, where our terrific team would welcome your visit, as an alternative. Thanks!

Crack Candy Recipe

Since our bake-off in November, everyone’s been asking for the recipe for our first place dessert: crack candy. Craving something sweet? This treat should do the trick! Download a copy of the recipe and make your own crack candy at home.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line one large or two small jelly roll pans with foil. Spray with non-stick cooking spray and arrange the saltines salt side down on the foil in a single layer. In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter and brown sugar together and boil until it turns a caramel color, a few minutes. Remove from heat and pour over the crackers, covering them evenly. Put the pan into the oven and bake for 3 to 5 minutes, or until just bubbly. Watch carefully. Remove from oven and pour the chocolate chips over the crackers. When the chips start to melt a little, spread them over the crackers with a knife. Put the pan in the freezer for 15 – 20 minutes, or until completely cold. When they come out of the freezer they will be in one big sheet. Remove from foil and crack into pieces. Store in an air tight container. Other toppings can be added such as: mini marshmallows, chopped nuts, coconut, toffee bits, etc. Add when chocolate is melted before freezing.
