Building a Better Salad Dressing

Summer is the perfect season to enjoy a delicious, crisp salad. Salads are wonderful because you can build them any way you like!  Salads can be heart healthy, low calorie, and filled with a bounty of fresh seasonal ingredients.  So, why add a dressing that is full of fat, sugar, preservatives, artificial flavors and colors plus unwanted calories? Here are some mouthwatering dressings that are worthy of any salad:

Citrus Vinaigrette

Serving size: 1 TBSP
25 calories per serving

Ingredients

Directions

Place all ingredients in a blender; process until smooth

 

Cucumber Yogurt Dressing

Yields: 16 servings, 1 TBSP each
18 calories per serving

Directions

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until the mixture is smooth. Refrigerate dressing in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
