OUR COMMITMENT TO AFFORDABLE MEMBERSHIP
CPAFC Discounted Memberships and Program Assistance
The purpose of the financial assistance program is to offer financial support to families with demonstrated need and to provide support to qualifying applicants. As a nonprofit charitable organization, the mission of Claudius Crozet Park is to make sure Park programming is accessible to community members and that no one is excluded because of inability to pay. The Crozet Park Board of Directors and acac are partnering to provide sliding scale pricing and discounts for membership to the Crozet Park Aquatics and Fitness Center (CPAFC) and for camps and after-school programming. Assistance is awarded based on demonstrated need, the CPAFC’s ability to fund the subsidy, and space availability.
Through the financial assistance program, membership is available on a sliding scale based on household income. View the sliding scale here to see if your household qualifies for financial assistance.
All applications for assistance must be made by completing a current CPAFC Request for Financial Assistance Application. All requests will be reviewed and a determination made within 10 business days.
To apply for a discounted membership:
- Download and fill-out the CPAFC Financial Aid Form (PDF)
- Attach required documentation – tax form 1040, plus one supporting document

Lap Swimming Etiquette
- Stay constantly aware of other swimmers.
- Select a lane that has swimmers moving close to the pace you are most comfortable swimming.
- As the swimmer joining a lane, let the other swimmers know upon entering the pool that you are sharing the lane to avoid collisions.
- Allow swimmers doing faster strokes to go ahead and allow 5-10 seconds between yourself and the swimmer ahead of you.
- If you are overtaking a swimmer, gently touch their feet so they are aware of your presence.
- If you are being overtaken, avoid speeding up or stopping in the middle of the pool when “tagged.”
RECREATIONAL SWIMMING
At CPAFC, we want community members of all ages to feel comfortable enjoying an active, healthy lifestyle – including youth and young adults.
Recreational Swim Policies:
- Children under the age of 14 need to be supervised by their parents when in the Aquatics Center when there is not a guard on duty.
- Families with children, who can swim a lap independently, may reserve both sides of a lane (A&B) for lap swimming or to work with their kids on swimming (we do not allow outside swim instructors to provide instruction within CPAFC). We do not allow families to reserve a lane for recreation.
- We ask that all swimmers be mindful of all members using the space, regardless of why they are using the space. We do not allow “horse-play,” this would include chicken fights, play-fighting with equipment, excessive breath holding competitions, etc.
- Families with children under the age of 8 need to be next to their children at all times.
- Lifeguards, at any time, may ask swimmers to perform a swim test before being allowed into the deep portions of the pool.
- Children who are not potty trained are required to wear swim diapers.
- Swim Lesson and Group Ex equipment, noodles, and kickboards are for program use only.
- Private pool rentals are available. Contact us to learn more about private rentals and to make your reservation.
