SEPTEMBER

Summer is over. Time to settle into a new routine and set your new fitness goals. Meet with one of our skilled personal trainers to help you establish your SMART (Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely) goals for the Fall/Winter season. The Dolphin Swim School is an ideal learn-to-swim program for novice swimmers. Our instructors are trained in the Starfish Aquatic International Swim School curriculum, focusing on creating safer swimmers by developing swim and safety skills. The program includes eight, 30-minute classes designed to help students develop a foundation of swimming skills in a child-centered environment.

September 2 – 28 | Dolphin Club | Sun: 4:00-5:00pm or Tue: 5:00-6:00pm or Wed: 5:30-6:30pm or Fri: 6:00-7:00pm | Member $91 Non-member $105 | Email [email protected] to register This group is designed for swimmers who wish to build their endurance in the pool, while focusing on each of the four strokes. Qualifications: All swimmers must be able to complete the length of the pool without assistance and have the ability to swim in a group class for one hour. September 5 | First Friday on the Rooftop | 5:30-7:00pm | FREE
Live Music, a tasting from High Noon and food specials from the Rooftop Cafe will make for a special evening. Plus, it’s the first Friday of the month which means you can bring a guest FREE!

September 6 -27 | Dolphin Babies | Saturdays | 10:50-11:20am | Member $80 Non-member $100 | Email [email protected] to register
Teaching water enjoyment and safety at a young age is ideal. Four 30-minute small group swim lessons are geared for children ages 6 months – 2 years with a parent in the water. 

September 8 | Kids Yoga | Mondays | 5:00-5:45pm | FREE
School is back in session and Kids Yoga is back on Mondays. Your little yogi will get to practice fine and gross motor skills, social and group skills, and begin to learn mindfulness and breathing/calming tools. Ages 5 and up. Register online to have your child attend and check them into Kids Zone. A member of our team will escort them to the studio.

September 10 – October 15 | ACE Certified Personal Trainer Course | 5:30-8:30pm | $160 | Register by emailing [email protected]
Want to become a personal trainer? Gear up for the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Training Exam with this weekly workshop led by Certified Personal Trainer Jennifer Perrin. Participants receive 70% off the ACE Personal Trainer Study Program (must register for ACE program and exam separately).

Join us for a joyful storybook reading along with an activity. Reading led by esteemed Educator, Writer and Ageless Grace Instructor Emily Walls Ray.

The Book Club is member-ran and meets monthly in the Conference Room on the Mezzanine level. Light refreshments are provided by the Rooftop Cafe. All members are welcome to attend. September book choice is The Mother Tongue by Bill Bryson

September 19 | Healthy Horizons Luncheon | 12:30pm | Member FREE
Join us for this month’s presentation from the Alzheimer’s Association.  Research is still evolving, but evidence is strong that people can reduce their risk of cognitive decline by making key lifestyle changes. Join us as we look at some of the most important lifestyle changes we can make to have a healthier brain. Enjoy a light lunch from the Rooftop Cafe while you listen.

OCTOBER

Let’s get ahead of those extra holiday calories with our Pre-Holiday Burn. Consistency is key to any fitness plan. We challenge you to consistently walk 10,000 steps/day for the month of October. There will be tracking sheets made available. Every successful member gets a complimentary 30-minute personal training session.

NOVEMBER

November 1 – 30 | You Need to Know Your RMR | $149
Knowing your resting metabolic rate (RMR) is important because it gives you the baseline number of calories your body burns at rest to keep you alive—running essential functions like breathing, circulating blood, and regulating temperature. Knowing your RMR can help you manage weight, receive personalized nutrition and training, avoid under or over fueling your body and create the opportunity to set intentional goals. Your RMR is your “baseline budget” of calories. If you don’t know it, it’s like trying to manage money without knowing your fixed expenses.
