Our youth tennis mission is to create a positive, caring and dynamic environment that mindfully focuses on the physical, emotional and mental growth of junior tennis players.

Junior After School Programming

Preschool

This class is an entry level introduction to tennis for preschool aged children.

Mon & Wed | 4:00 – 4:30pm | Ages 3 – 5

Red Futures

For beginner-intermediate level red ball players between who are relatively new to tennis or players that have aged up from the Preschool Tennis level of classes. Some prior tennis or other sport experience is recommended for this group, but not required. Using the USTA’s Red Ball 3 curriculum, players will learn the fundamentals of being an athlete and begin the basic fundamentals of groundstrokes, serves, volleys and rally skills.  

Mon – Thu | 4:30 – 5:00pm | Ages 6 – 8

Orange Futures

For beginner-intermediate level orange ball players who have advanced from Red Futures or who meet the requirements through the Red Ball assessment test and invited by a coach. Using the USTA’s Orange Ball 2 and Orange Ball 1 curriculum, players will continue to build on their athletic and tennis fundamentals which are groundstrokes, serves, volleys, footwork and rally skills. At this level, players will be able to rally from the baseline of the 36′ court with top spin, serve and return with rally, transition to the net, volley and begin to play out a 7 point tie break with a partner. 

Mon & Wed | 6:00 – 7:00pm | Ages 9 & 10

Green Futures

For beginner-intermediate level green ball players who have advanced from Orange Challengers or meet the age requirements. Players should be familiar with the fundamentals of tennis and have had some prior instruction. Using the USTA’s Green Ball 3 curriculum, players will continue to build the fundamentals of their tennis game improving their topspin and slice baseline game (forehand and backhand), serve/return, transition and net play and begin to learn to play singles and doubles full set matches.

Mon & Wed | 6:00 – 7:00pm | Ages 11 & 12

Yellow Futures

For beginner-intermediate level players who have advanced and aged out of Green Futures or who have been assessed by a coach. Players at this level will use the yellow ball and should have a firm grasp on the fundamentals (serves, returns, forehand/backhand groundstrokes, volleys, slice). Some previous tennis training is required for this group. Curriculum will be based on the USTA’s Green Ball 3, Green Ball 2 and Green Ball 3 using the yellow ball. We recommend that players attend both Mondays and Wednesdays to develop properly and to advance to the next level.  

Mon & Wed | 4:30 – 6:00pm | Ages 12 – 17

Yellow Challengers

For intermediate to advanced level players who have advanced from Yellow Futures or who have been assessed and referred by a coach. Players at this level should have had some match experience with USTA L7, Junior Team Tennis or middle school/high school tennis. Curriculum will be based around the USTA’s Green Ball 1 and other drills associated competitive and high performance junior tennis players. This class meets 4 days per week, however you can pick which day(s) of the session that you would like to attend.  Each session lasts 4-5 weeks (month).  We recommend that at this level players attend 2-4 days per week in order to improve at the proper rate.
